China will host the two-day third meeting of foreign ministers of the countries neighbouring Afghanistan in Tunxi, Anhui province from Wednesday.

The meeting is aimed at resolving the issues especially economic reconstruction of Afghanistan.

In a statement, China's foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced that Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will host the Foreign ministers and representatives of Pakistan, Iran, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

He said dialogue is expected to promote the Afghan side to build an open and inclusive political structure, pursue a moderate and stable domestic and foreign policy and effectively fight terrorism.

The spokesperson said, China will urge the countries to build further consensus among countries to jointly promote the stability in the country, support the Afghan people, and convey voices of Afghanistan's neighbours to the international community.

He said China hopes the international community will provide greater support to Afghanistan, and we call on the United States to take primary responsibility for Afghanistan's economic reconstruction.
