Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur Professor Dr. Athar Mahboob has said that the inaugural ceremony of the South Punjab's biggest Cultural and literary event, 2nd Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival will be held on Wednesday.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan's Cultural Correspondent Sajjad Pervaiz, he said the four-day festival will prove to be a milestone in promoting and reviving the arts and cultural activities in South Punjab.

Professor Dr Athar Mahboob said transferring the cultural and civilizational values from one generation to another is the core responsibility of universities.

The Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur said Pakistan's first literary coffee book titled "22 LOG" written by Controller News Radio Pakistan Lahore Sajjad Pervaiz which was published by Islamia University, Bahawalpur will also be launched at the 2nd Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival.

Terming the 1st Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival held in 2020 a biggest achievement, he said this year the cultural events have been increased in the four-day cultural festival to make it more effective and attractive.

He said the cultural festival envisages many events featuring Qiraat and Naat Competitions, all Pakistan Debate Competition, Talks of Famous Personalities on Literature, Art and Culture, Fine Art Competition, Books Launching, Drama/Theatrics, Folk/Instrumental Music, Sufi Night, Media Conclave, Qawali Night, Student Hour and Grand Mehfil-e-Mushaira.
