A three-member bench of Lahore High Court headed by Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, heard treason case against former Prime Ministers Shahid Khaqan Abassi and Nawaz Sharif in Lahore today (Friday). 

The court issued notice to journalist Cyril Almeida.

Later, the case was adjourned till September this year.

Talking to newsmen after the hearing, Shahid Khaqan Abassi said he respects the court and will appear whenever the court summons him.He emphasized that election should not be made controversial.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has sentenced one month jail to former MNA and three others for Kasur anti-judiciary rally.

In contempt of court case, a full bench of the LHC, headed by Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi imposed a fine of one hundred thousand rupees on each of the convicts.

Shaikh Waseem, Ahmad Latif, Nasir Khan and Jamil Khan were arrested outside the court.
