Dr. Abdullah Gul (Defence Analyst):After getting humiliating defeat from brave Pakistani armed forces last year, India unilaterally announced to set Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance. Since then Pakistan has been raising the issue on international forums to sensitize the world about the sensitivity of this issue because this issue a matter of life and death for Pakistan. In the wake of Indian continuous manipulation of this treaty now our government has taken a major step to right direction and going to hold IWT Seminar tomorrow in Islamabad. I appreciate government for this initiative which will further sensitize the world about Indian blatant violation of international treaties and conventions. Actually, Indus Waters Treaty is a sensitive issue because India manipulating this treaty. Pakistan declares Indian act as an as act of war and reserves right to react. It is a serious matter and Pakistan will enlighten domestic and international audiences on the sensitivity of this issue through seminar. First Pakistan will sensitize the world about this issue. Afterwards Pakistan will take due actions. It is high time that world must pay heed to Pakistan’s efforts and if India wants to harbor then we are ready. International media will focus on this seminar and find Pakistan’s position. Pakistan can’t allow anyone to play with Pakistan’s lifeline. It is established fact that neither IWT can be revoked, nor changed, nor set in abeyance or suspended unilaterally. International Water experts will review Pakistan’s right over river waters flowing into Pakistan from India. Whole world has recognized Pakistan’s right over waters. We will present our case before the world at IWT. Our Ministers raised issue at Brussels and international world endorsed Pakistan’s stance. Pakistan has been raising this issue at various international forums during last one year.
