Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber Pakistan for creation of a large-scale economic opportunity program for BISP beneficiaries.
The MoU signing ceremony was held in Islamabad on Friday.
Addressing on the occasion BISP Chairperson Marvi Memon termed it as follow-up of meeting between Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and CEO of Uber Technologies Incorporation Dara Khowsroshahi, at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January this year.
General Manager UBER Pakistan, Safee Shah said Uber is working closely with BISP to develop a framework for on-demand transportation technology aggregator services that will drive economic opportunities for women in Pakistan.
