The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has announced to postpone the elections until Israel allows the vote to take place in Jerusalem.
He made the announcement after a meeting of leaders of Palestinian factions in Ramallah.
The Palestinian President said we have decided to postpone the parliamentary elections until we ensure the participation of the people of Jerusalem.
He said the elections must be held in all the Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
The postponed elections were being held in Palestine after 15 years following an agreement between rival Palestinian factions.
