Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali of Balochistan Awami Party has been elected as new Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly.

He was elected unopposed as no other candidate submitted nomination papers for the slot.

The office of Speaker had fallen vacant due to resignation of Abdul Quddus Bizanjo who was later elected as Leader of the House unopposed.
