APHC raises concern over plight of Kashmiri detainees
December 30, 2023

The people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir are suffering immensely as the personnel of Indian forces and dreaded investigation agencies are continuing their violent cordon and search operations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the personnel of Indian army, paramilitary, police, National Investigation Agency and State Investigation Agency during cordon and search operations are subjecting the locals to severe harassment.

The residents of many areas told the media that forces' personnel make them stand in open for hours in bone-chilling cold.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement in Srinagar has expressed serious concern over plight of illegally detained Kashmiris.

He said more than 4,000 Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth are facing hell-like situations in various jails of India and occupied Kashmir.

Legal experts based in Srinagar have deplored that Modi-led Indian government is using judiciary to strengthen India's illegal hold over Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to press in Poonch, National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah, said dialogue between India and Pakistan is the only way to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

He also condemned the killing and torturing of civilians by Indian troops at an army camp in Surankote area of the district.
