Latest reports say the fire erupted on the Margalla Hills at Kalanjar village has been controlled.

According to a spokesman of Pakistan Navy, 120 troops and 12 fire tenders of Navy participated in the fire fighting operation.

Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force had provided helicopters on request of National Disaster Management Authority for fighting the fire at the Margalla Hills in suburbs of Islamabad.

Pak Army troops were also despatched to protect the local population of Kalajar village from bush fire.

Meanwhile, Capital Development Authority was reviewing the overall situation and a control room was established in this regard.
