Referendum for independent Sikh homeland Khalistan starts in London
October 31, 2021

A referendum for an independent homeland for the Indian Sikhs started in London, today [Sunday].

The announcement was made by the ‘Punjab Referendum Commission’, which was appointed by the US-based Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice.

The referendum will, then, take place in other countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, and the region of Punjab.

Commission's Chairman M Dane Waters, based at the University of Southern California clarified that the commission’s role is to help the Sikhs for Justice to conduct a referendum that is consistent with international norms.

The Khalistan movement gained momentum in the aftermath of systematic discrimination against the Sikh community in India and Hindutva hegemony.

A report published by Kashmri Media Service says that the Indian security establishment is deeply worried as the Khalistan idea is generating deep interest among Sikhs worldwide and creation of separate homeland with  the name of Khalistan is the dream of every Sikh.
