The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has welcomed South Africa’s decision to file a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

In a statement, OIC has stressed that Israel is committing a genocide by killing and injuring tens of thousands of Palestinians and preventing them from obtaining humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Foreign Ministry has urged International Court of Justice to expedite proceedings on a case filed by South Africa accusing Israel of genocidal acts in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the ministry called on the ICJ to swiftly respond to South Africa's request to prevent the genocidal acts.
