President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi has said that the Kashmir issue is an internationally recognized dispute and it can only be resolved through implementation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He was speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in Islamabad today.

The AJK President highlighted Pakistan's continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people and urged the international community to play its role in securing their right to self-determination promised under the relevant UN resolutions.

Referring to India's unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, he said no piece of legislation by the Indian parliament could alter the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The President also called for unhindered access for UN human rights bodies and international observers to the territory to assess the situation on the ground.
