Maqbool Elahi Malik (Defense Analyst):

After the general elections in Pakistan, the formation of the government was the constitutional requirement. The process of formation of the governments in all four provinces has almost completed. The provincial assemblies have elected Chief Ministers, Speakers and Deputy Speakers. Now in the federal capital, former Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif has been re-elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Newly elected Prime Minister has taken the oath and will be going to form his cabinet. This is how the democratic transition has been completed. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang have congratulated Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan. The bilateral relations of Pakistan and China will acquire new heights. Special Economic Zones will be established. Moreover, China will also support Pakistan in boosting IT and agriculture sectors as well.

Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh (Leader PML-N):

After his election as a Prime Minister, Mian Shehbaz Sharif in his first address highlighted some major challenges that the country is facing along with the solutions. The major challenges include balance of payment issues, trade deficit, energy shortfall and many others. After the 18th amendment, the federal government distributes the funds to the provinces and left with nothing to pay the salaries and other allowances to the federal employees. The main focus of the incumbent government will be to revive the economy and bring it back on the right track. The loans will be provided for the SMEs and the farmers on easy terms and conditions. The government is determined to provide relief to the masses in terms of gas and electricity. Moreover, the government is also keen to strengthen its bilateral relations with all the neighboring countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also invited the opposition for a Charter of Reconciliation to deal with the national challenges. It is the need of the hour that opposition parties must cooperate with the government to bring the country out of difficult times.

Dr Farooq Adil (IR Expert):

The formation of the cabinet is the part of the democratic process and it must be constituted with the mutual consensus of the allies. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has provided a comprehensive plan and road map to bring the country out of crises. He categorically talked about facilitating the farmers by providing them subsidies. Moreover, the priority of the government will be on the tax collection. I am hopeful that the new government is capable enough to bring the country’s economy on the right track.

Waheed Ahmed (Former Ambassador):

Over one hundred and fifty Palestinians have been martyred by the Israeli bombardment at the time when the innocent Palestinians were waiting for food aid. The issue is that the United States and other elements are not even allowing the UN Security Council to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza. There is no willingness on the part of the European Union and the United States to persuade Israel to stop genocide of innocent people in Gaza. Pakistan at its level is trying its level best to support the Palestinian brethren in the difficult time and providing time to time aid for the people of Palestine.
