(Retd.) Ahmed Saeed Minhas (Defense Analyst): The joint exercise of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the counter terrorism domain will further harness the historic military to military ties between both the brotherly countries. The drill also served as a platform to share Pakistan Army’s experience in the war against terrorism. Pakistan is consistently holding joint exercises with different countries. These frequent exercises strengthen capabilities in command and control, enhance cross-country military relations and diligently prepare for any required response to threats. Pakistan is the only country that fought against terrorism without the support of any other country. Pakistan suffered huge financial losses as well as over 80,000 precious lives in successfully eradicating the menace of terrorism. The United States could not defeat terrorism in Afghanistan. The world acknowledges the professional capabilities of Pakistani forces in war against terrorism.
