In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Occupation authorities imposed sweeping restrictions on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir which was observed today (Wednesday).

According to Kashmir Media Service, heavy deployments of Indian police, Army, Central Reserve Police Force and other paramilitary personnel were made across the occupied territory, particularly in Srinagar, Budgam, Sopore, Jammu and other sensitive areas.

The authorities have categorically denied permission to any political party or organization to hold demonstrations, warning that anyone participating in or organizing protests will face strict legal action.

The restrictions came after the All Parties Hurriyat Conference called for a shutdown and the National Conference, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Congress announced separate protest programmes to observe August 5 as “Black Day” against India’s illegal action of August 5, 2019.

Meanwhile, senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that August 5 is a painful reminder of the day when a decision was imposed upon occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian government, unilaterally altering its structure and status.

In a statement issued in Srinagar on the seventh anniversary of India’s illegal revocation of Articles 370 and 35A, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said this multi-pronged assault on the identity, character and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has left yet another deep wound on their body politic.
