The 40th death anniversary of renowned Balochi folk musician and folk singer, Faiz Mohammad Baloch was observed on Friday.

He was born in 1900 and well-known for his unique style. He was found of folk singing since childhood. 

His contribution for Balochi music is greatly admired by most Baloch people.  He was introduced to Radio Pakistan by legendary Radio broadcaster Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari. He is considered as one of the most prominent folk singers at Pakistan Television.

The renowned singer introduced the traditional music style of Balochi folk songs all over Pakistan after migrating to Karachi, Pakistan.  

Government of Pakistan awarded him Presidential Pride of Performance Award on 23rd March, 1979 in acknowledgment of his services in folk singing and music industry.

Faiz Mohammad Baloch died in 1982 in Quetta, Balochistan.
