Kashmiris on both sides of LoC and the World over observed Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu today with a renewed pledge to accomplish the mission of the martyrs of Jammu for their UN-acknowledged right to self-determination.
Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were martyred by the forces of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, the Indian Army, and Hindu fanatics in different parts of the Jammu region when they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the integrity and prosperity of Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the liberation of the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In AJK, rallies, demonstrations, and protest gatherings were held in all small and big cities of the state under the auspices of the Kashmir Liberation Cell, Huriayat, and religious organizations.
In the state capital Muzaffarabad, a seminar and rally were organized by Pasban Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir to pay homage to the martyrs of Jammu on November 6, 1947.
A large number of citizens and leaders of various political and religious parties participated in the seminar followed by a rally. The rally was taken out from Old Secretariat to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
All three radio stations aired programs on the significance of the day.
In their separate messages, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary and Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan have paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Jammu on their 75th martyrdom anniversary.
Highlighting the supreme sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people, they said the day is not far when Kashmiris' sacrifices would bear fruit and the Indian-occupied territory of Kashmir would be free from the Indian shackles of slavery.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Jammu massacre on their martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement, they said that due to the killing of Muslims in Jammu, the majority of Muslims there was turned into a minority and now the fascist Indian government of Narendra Modi is playing the same game in the occupied territory.
They further said the heinous process of killing Kashmiris had reached its peak and Indian forces are martyring Kashmiris every day.
They said Kashmiris would always remember the unprecedented sacrifices rendered by the Jammu martyrs.
The APHC leaders said Kashmiri people will accomplish the mission of their martyrs at all costs.
Meanwhile, special prayers were also offered in mosques across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the early liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian yoke and progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman said that the Kashmiris would always remember the unprecedented sacrifices rendered by the Jammu martyrs seventy five years ago.
APHC leaders urged the international community to impress upon India to stop its brutalities in IIOJK and settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and the relevant UN resolutions.
The IIOJK’s High Court has quashed the illegal detention of two persons Farooq Ahmad Chopan and Ishtiyaq Azam Butt booked under black law, Public Safety, and directed the authorities to release them immediately.
Meanwhile, an informative and educational session on ‘Global Injustice” was organized in New Jersey on Injustices in Kashmir, Palestine and Indian minorities.
Chairman, ‘World Forum for Peace and Justice’ Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai addressing on the occasion said that the silence of international community over gross affronts to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in IIOJK is worrisome.
