In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir, a special wing of Indian police, has conducted raids on the homes of pro-freedom Kashmiris at multiple locations in several districts.
The raids were carried out in Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Shopian, Islamabad and other districts in connection with an old case registered in 2023.
Indian police and paramilitary personnel harassed residents, including women and children, during the searches, damaged household belongings and seized property documents, laptops, mobile phones and other digital devices.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that India cannot suppress the voice of truth and justice in IIOJK through force, repression and authoritarian tactics.
Mirwaiz, in a post on X, said that the restrictions demonstrated how the space for Kashmiris to raise their voices on religious and other issues was being steadily curtailed.
Additionally, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed deep concern over the plight of Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth detained in Indian jails.
He urged the United Nations and the International Court of Justice to take notice of the illegal detention of Kashmiris and the denial of fair trials to them.
The spokesman said that the BJP-led Indian government was subjecting Kashmiris to political persecution and using coercive measures to silence their genuine voices.
The APHC strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations, cordon and search operations and raids on homes across the occupied territory.
