Pakistan and Iraq have agreed to enhance high-level interactions and work towards developing frameworks in various fields of cooperation.

The consensus to this effect was reached during a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Under Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq in Islamabad.

They also agreed to hold the 9th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission at the earliest.

The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and fraternal ties with Iraq and expressed desire of further enhancing and diversifying these ties in all fields.
