In Afghanistan, fourteen people including eight Taliban militants and six security personnel were killed in a gun battle in Arghanchkhwa district of northern Badakhshan province today.

Provincial army spokesman, Abdul Razaq said the clash erupted after a group of Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints.

Four army personnel were also wounded in the attack.
