October 09, 2024

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for peaceful protests across Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Friday against blasphemous remarks by Hindu priest Yati Narsinghanand.

In a statement in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas urged the Kashmiri people and religious scholars to take to the streets after Friday prayers.

He emphasized the need for a unified stand against the increasing Islamophobia and xenophobia in India.

Posters also appeared in Srinagar and other parts of the territory urging people to join the protest.

On the other hand, senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a message from New Delhi's Tihar Jail deplored the world's silence on the atrocities being inflicted upon Kashmiris and Palestinians at the hands of oppressors India and Israel.

He urged the international community to acknowledge the plight of Kashmiris and Palestinians, stressing the need for decisive action to prevent further escalation.

Meanwhile, protests erupted in the Qazigund area of Islamabad district against the Modi regime's plan to control their sole water source.

Local residents complain that the regime wants to draw water from the locality's spring through a pipeline, threatening to suspend the water supply to hundreds of kanals of land and drinking water to hundreds of villages.
