Dr. Abdullah Gul (Defence Analyst):The government is strongly committed to address problems of overseas Pakistanis to level of their satisfaction. The government is also extending all possible facilitations to overseas Pakistanis. In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar today chaired a meeting and stressed the adoption of digital technologies to provide various services to Overseas Pakistanis, obviating the need for physical presence. Actually, overseas Pakistanis are significantly contributing to national economy as tune of remittances transacted by them is increasing with the passage of each day. Expats are transacting remittances despite the numerous serious geopolitical threats due to the prevailing security situation in Middle East. Expats are keeping on supporting Pakistan by sending much need foreign exchange home. Their contribution ensures higher level of Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves. They are contributing to every sector in Pakistan by their own. However, they have some issues which are being addressed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in person. I think that expats must be given due regard and honour at our airports and other public places. In this regard, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has been visiting such places to address their issues. Moreover, judiciary must also come up with some sort of early dispensation of pending cases related to expats to provide them with relief.
