Dr. Usman Chohan (Economic Expert):I am excited over the good news that Pakistan’s budget transparency has improved by 50 percent in just two years. As per Open Budget Survey by the International Budget Partnership, Pakistan now matches the global average of 45 and stands ahead of key peers such as India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nigeria and China. In result of government’s strong fiscal management and financial policies, Pakistan is moving towards right direction on fiscal management and development. It is very good news to see a country moving on the right track of economic growth.  I think that it very positive development will boost international investors’ and businesses as well as international financial institutions’ confidence in Pakistan’s fiscal management and social contract of the government with the people. I think that multiple factors have contributed to this achievement. I believe more work to be done on this issue and hard work to be done by whole country.
