APHC pays tribute to martyred Hurriyet leader Altaf Shah
October 11, 2023

In India Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, strict restrictions were imposed in Srinagar and adjoining areas on the occasion of Indian president Draupadi Murmu’s visit, today.

A multi-tier security grid was put in place while surprise checking of vehicles and pedestrians were conducted.

Commenting on the unprecedented restrictive measures, political experts ridiculed the Modi regime’s ‘all is well’ mantra in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir post August 2019 illegal decision.

They called for resolution of the Kashmir dispute in light of the UN Security Council resolutions to prevent South Asia from plunging into a catastrophic situation like Middle East.

Meanwhile, posters have appeared in Srinagar and other areas in support of the Palestinian people with slogans “We stand with Palestine”, and “India is imitating Israeli model of repression in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other hand, APHC paid rich tribute to senior Hurriyat leader Altaf Ahmad Shah who had embraced martyrdom in Indian captivity on this day, last year.

The statement called upon the United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international human rights organizations to India to immediately release all illegally detained pro-freedom leaders.
