PM committed to national economic uplift: Economist
February 12, 2025

Dr. Munawar Hussain (Economist):   The government is committed to uplift national economy. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is focused on economic sector. In this regard he has paid successful visits to the UAE, China and other countries. Economy is at the top of his agenda in his meetings with every leader. This is why, inflation rate has come down. Price hike has also lowered in the country. Foreign exchange reserves have also increased. Even our exchange rate is stable. Overseas Pakistanis have sent record remittances. All these developments show public and world’s trust in the economic policies of the government. However, it is a fact that Pakistan will have to focus on economic reforms along with meritocracy; right person for right job is core base for economic development. Now the government has placed competent and dedicated people at right portfolios which are showing positive results in economic sector. This is why, today almost all the economic indicators are showing positive trajectory.  Singapore copied and implemented five year plan of Pakistan and now it is a prosperous and developed economy. We also need to adopt best international practices for sustainable economic growth. Thailand trained one million youth as freelancers to generate one billion dollars. Our youth has also potential to generate such a huge amount through freelancing. Consistency of policies is also must in this regard. Institutions guarantee the consistency of policies despite change of political approach. Today the definition of bureaucracy has been transformed into to public diplomacy to convince and facilitate the investors.
