President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated King Felipe VI and the people on the occasion of the National Day of Spain.

In his letter of felicitations, the President said Pakistan values its longstanding friendship with Spain, founded on mutual goodwill and constructive engagement.

He said the growing trade and investment ties between the two countries offer considerable scope for closer cooperation in renewable energy, agriculture and information technology, as well as stronger links between universities, researchers and businesses.

President Asif Ali Zardari also highlighted the Pakistani community in Spain as a valuable link between the two countries.

He said Pakistan and Spain cooperate closely at the United Nations and other multilateral forums on issues of shared interest, including climate action, sustainable development and international peace.
