Complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir
January 13, 2018

In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed, today in protest against the surge in killings and other human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

Call for the shutdown was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

All shops, business establishments, private offices and fuel stations remained closed while traffic was off the road.

The puppet authorities had imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Indian police arrested JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik after raiding his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar, today, and shifted him to Kothi Bagh police station.

In a statement in Srinagar, APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, expressed serious concern over the deteriorating health condition of illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
