Kashmiris, on both sides of Line of Control and the world over, observed Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, today to pay homage to martyrs of July 13, 1931 and all other Kashmiri martyrs.

The call for observance of the day was given by All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

Rallies, seminars and other events were held in Azad Kashmir and major cities worldwide to pay tribute to Kashmiri martyrs.

However, occupation regime imposed restrictions across the occupied territory sealing Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar.

Shopkeepers were forced to keep their shops open to prevent the shutdown strike.

The authorities placed under house arrest several political leaders including  Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah to prevent them from visiting the martyrs' graveyard.
