Najam-ud-Din Sheikh (Former Ambassador) It is an important gesture that Pakistan expressed willingness to work with all the neighboring countries including India in economic development. Unfortunately, the present Indian regime prefers to follow its hegemonic policies rather than to improve relations with SAARC countries. Pakistan is adopting a clear policy that it is interested in maintaining strong relations with all countries for the sake of regional peace and prosperity. The minorities in India are unsafe as the Hindu extremists are forcefully promoting Hindutva ideology. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rightly stated that India is negating UN resolutions on the Kashmir issue for the last seven decades and committing the worst atrocities on innocent Kashmiris. Pakistan has always desired for meaningful and result oriented engagement yet India always steps back.
Abdullah Gul (Defense Analyst) India never played any notable role in Afghanistan. The United States tried to use Indian forces in Afghanistan. The former Afghan president proposed to get the Afghan National Army by India but soldiers refused to get training from India. After the US withdrawal and formation of an interim Afghan government, India tried to reach out to the Afghan government but the Afghan government refused to give any role to India in Afghanistan. Moreover, India has repeatedly been involved in using the Afghan soil to destabilize its arch nemesis Pakistan. The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his address to the 6th summit of CICA rightly pointed out the Indian role of peace spoiler in regional peace and stability. The United States has realized that Pakistan is the only country that can play an important role in Afghanistan.
Waheed Ahmed (Former Ambassador) The Prime Minister in his address at 6th CICA summit once again reiterated the commitment that Pakistan is ready for interaction and conflict resolution provided India is also willing to do so. Unfortunately, the present Indian government is having hegemonic designs and wants to keep all the neighboring countries under pressure. India has also played the role of peace spoiler in the region particularly in Afghanistan. The instability and insecurity in Afghanistan have direct impacts on Pakistan. The peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in the best national interest of Pakistan.
Dr Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert) India always tried to harm Pakistan and used Afghan soil in order to destabilize Pakistan in the past. Now the interim government in power in Afghanistan is not interested in developing strong relations with India. Pakistan on the other hand has accommodated a huge number of Afghan refugees in the country. Moreover, Pakistan always supported Afghanistan in crucial times. Pakistan has a crystal clear policy that it supports peaceful, prosperous and stable Afghanistan. The Prime Minister has rightly stated that if India is interested to resolve issues with Pakistan, then it has to review its aggressive policies towards the minorities. The international community must urge India to stop committing state terrorism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
