Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said India is sponsoring terrorism and subversion in Balochistan to destabilize Pakistan.
He was addressing a joint news conference along with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti in Islamabad on Friday.
The Director General ISPR said India was running a misinformation warfare throughout the conduct of the operation, while continuously circulating AI generated images and fake videos on its mainstream media.
Giving detail of the incident, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said when our security forces were launching the rescue operation to get free the hostages from the captivity of terrorists, a malicious campaign led by the Indian media was going on.
He further said terrorists were taking instructions from their handlers in Afghanistan.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said terrorists intercepted the train with improvised explosive device, making the train dysfunctional. Earlier before attacking the train, terrorists raided a nearby FC picket, martyring three personnel. He said twenty-six passengers were martyred in the incident.
The DG ISPR commended the Pakistan Army, Special Services Group, Law Enforcement Agencies and FC for conducting the operation with utmost precision and caution. He mentioned that not a single causality happened during the conduct of the operation. He said some passengers were martyred before the launch of the operation by the security forces.
To a question, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said we will take on terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors whether inside or outside Pakistan.
Earlier, addressing the news conference, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti paid rich tribute to the security forces, Pak Army, FC and Law Enforcement Agencies for the successful operation against terrorists who attacked Jaffar Express train.
He thanked the international community for extending support to Pakistan in this difficult moment and condemning this tragic incident.
The Chief Minister Balochistan said such terrorist incident in which unarmed passengers were held hostages, is against the very traditions and culture of Baloch people.
He said Balochs are the guardians of profound values and rich history but these terrorists have ravaged all those traditions, therefore they should not be called Baloch.
Sarfaraz Bugti said like Khwarij misusing name of Islam for their terrorist activities have no link at all with Islam, likewise these elements involved in dastardly acts in the name of 'Balochiyat' have nothing to do with the Balochs.
He categorically stated that these terrorist elements who shroud their activities under the guise of unparallel development and rights of Balochistan have no connection either with development or Baloch rights.
He said the only aim of these terrorists is to destabilize the country through violence, therefore, they must be and are being dealt with an iron hand.
Answering a question, the Chief Minister said there is no mercy for those who took arms against the state of Pakistan until and unless they unconditionally surrender.
Replying to another question, he said the door for dialogue has always been open in politics.
