In Sudan, an air raid on Darfur region has killed at least 40 civilians.

According to figures by the United Nations, about 7500 people have been killed and five million displaced due to conflict between military rulers in the country since April this year.

Meanwhile, UN special envoy for Sudan Volker Perthes has resigned after he was declared persona non grata by the military rulers.
