Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): Peace and stability in Afghanistan is vital for all the neighboring countries particularly Pakistan and Iran as being the main stakeholders both these countries share long borders with Afghanistan. During the Soviet invasion in Afghanistan, a huge number of Afghanis took shelter in Pakistan and Iran as well. Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs is on a visit to Pakistan and holding meetings with Pakistani officials and we are confident that the meetings would aid in creating better understandings on the Afghan situation. The mutual consensus will pave a way forward for peaceful and stable Afghanistan. In the wake of Doha accord when Taliban regained power in Afghanistan, the Taliban leaders promised that Afghan soil will not be used against any other country. It is the time that the Afghan government must fulfill that promise. Pakistan has time and again urged the interim government in Afghanistan to take notice as militant organizations in Afghanistan are using Afghan soil for nefarious designs against Pakistan.
Brig (Retd) Ahmed Saeed Minhas (Defense Analyst): Pakistan has strong evidence that militant organizations in Afghanistan are involved in terror activities in Pakistan. It seems that the interim government in Afghanistan is in the nexus with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The weapons used by the militants are the weapons that were left behind by the NATO forces after withdrawal from Afghanistan. The spokesperson of the Afghan government is negating the fact that Afghan soil is not being used against Pakistan. The Afghan government is lacking international recognition. Moreover, the nexus of Indian spy agencies RAW and NDS is no longer hidden. Both the agencies are supporting the militant organizations in Afghanistan to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh (Industrialist): The World Economic Forum's yearly assembly takes places in Davos each year. It is an imperative gathering where the conspicuous identities from all over the world assemble and share thoughts on elimination of poverty, climate change, investment opportunities and others. The Caretaker Prime Minister on the behalf of Pakistan will attend the meeting and will hold one-on-one meetings with different world leaders. We must be hopeful for the positive results of this visit. It is a fact that due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the prevailing Gaza situation, the complete world is confronting the financial challenges but this troublesome time will pass as well.
