The United States has expressed strong concern over India’s controversial Citizenship Amendment Act and said it is monitoring the implementation of this law.

At a daily news briefing in New York, State Department Spokesperson Mathew Miller said respect for religious freedom and equal treatment under the law for all communities in fundamental democratic principles.
