Analyst lauds commitment of Pakistan Army to curb the menace of terrorism
April 15, 2023

Lt Gen (Retd) Raza Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): Few days back a meeting of the National Security Committee was held in which a detailed briefing was given on the internal and external security challenges to Pakistan. In today's Corps Commander Conference, the top military leadership has once again expressed determination to curb the menace of terrorism. The fight against terrorism is the basic responsibility of the security forces but the support and cooperation of the nation is mandatory in this regard. Some elements including TTP, BLA, ISIS and others are making all out efforts to destabilize Pakistan with the support of their financers and facilitators. The incumbent government has started a round of negotiations and recently a high-level delegation visited Afghanistan to discuss the situation. The terrorism is becoming a threat for all regional countries including Iran, China, Pakistan and even Afghanistan so all the stakeholders need to be united against it. Border management needs to be improved to check the movement of terrorists. The facilitators of the terrorists must be dealt with iron hands. Our civil and military leadership have developed a consensus to wipe out the menace of terrorism from its roots. The intelligence-based operations across the country will be very much helpful in combating terrorism.
