In India, the BJP-government in Gujarat has demolished six seminaries besides other structures belonging to Muslims in Kutch area.

According to media reports, bulldozers were used for razing of the seminaries in a bid to complete the drive launched during the Gujarat assembly election campaign in November.

The high court in the state had refused to entertain petitions challenging the demolition of the seminaries.

BJP workers in Surat had started election campaign on bulldozers at a time when the notorious Hindu extremist Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath was visiting the state.

Yogi is known as Bulldozer Baba as he had used bulldozers for demolition of houses of Muslims and mosques in the state.

Meanwhile, in the Indian State of Assam, Chief Minister Himanata Biswa Sarma of the state has launched carrying out "communal" and "anti-constitutional" eviction drive of around 300 mostly Muslim families.

Muslim parliamentarian Sherman Ali Ahmed told media that the evictions are going on in Barpeta, Lakhimpur and Nagaon affecting hundreds of Muslim families. Ahmed was recently detained for protesting against evictions carried out by the BJP-government targeting mostly Muslims in the name of removing encroachments.
