Senior progressive journalist CR Shamsi has passed away in Islamabad.

He was a former Secretary-General of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of senior journalist CR Shamsi.

In a condolence message, he said, he is extremely saddened to know about the passing away of the fearless journalist CR Shamsi.

The minister prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.
