In India, the governments in Punjab and Haryana have suspended internet and cellular services until 24th of this month amid ongoing farmers’ protests.
Special powers have been invoked under the Telegraph Act of 1885 to deal with the farmers protests as talks failed to address their demands.
The farmers, led by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, on their way to Delhi are demanding minimum support prices for crops, loan waivers and subsidies on fertilizers.
