Ministry of Religious affairs and Interfaith Harmony has refuted the news circulating on social media regarding leaving hujjaj helpless at Mashair.
Radio Pakistan's correspondent Bilal Ahmed Mehsud reports from Makkah that in a video statement today, Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Somroo clarified that in Mashair we rely on facilities and information provided by Saudi Authorities and then act accordingly after confirmation.
The DG Hajj said till Tuesday afternoon, nine deaths of Pakistani Hujjaj were reported in Mashair. Out of these four in Mina, three in Arafat and two were reported in Muzdalifa.
Terming this year's hajj a difficult mission due to scorching heat, he said Saudi government has established a system under which permission is sought from heirs for burials. On regular basis, dead bodies are buried after offering funeral prayer in Haramain.
In other condition arrangements are made to bring the dead body of a pilgrim to Pakistan. The Saudi government cooperates with us in these matters.
The Director General Hajj Mission urged the people to rely on credible sources for any kind of news regarding Hujjaj.
