The seventeenth death anniversary of renowned Pakistani film actor Yousaf Khan is being observed today (Sunday).

Yousaf Khan was born in 1933 in Ferozepur, British India.

Following the partition of India in 1947, his family migrated to Pakistan and settled in Kasur.

Yousaf Khan's first film, 'Parwaz', was released in 1954. For a long time, he was known as a character actor until he got his first break as a leading actor in the 1973 Urdu film 'Ziddi'.

He became a superstar Punjabi hero in the 1970s.

Yousaf Khan worked in more than 400 films in Urdu, Pashto and Punjabi languages.

He died in Lahore on this day in 2009.
