In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Narendra Modi-led Indian regime has deployed nearly 300 additional paramilitary companies in the Kashmir Valley, ahead of so called assembly elections.

The deployment of paramilitary companies would further exacerbate the aready grim human rights situation in the occupied territory.

These paramilitary forces have been stationed in different areas of the Kashmir valley.

This deployment suggests that a war is being waged against Kashmiris instead of a democratic exercise in the name of elections.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement  in Srinagar, denounced the heavy deployment, saying that the military buildup reflects India's iron-fisted approach to suppress the Kashmiris' freedom sentiments.

He appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organizations to pressure India to stop the exercise and instead initiate steps that pave the way for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, including the release of all Kashmiri political detainees.

The National Conference has also released its manifesto emphasizing the need for Pakistan and India to engage in talks to resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute.

The manifesto addresses other issues like restoration of Article 370, repeal draconian laws like Public Safety Act and political empowerment, economic development, social justice and cultural preservation from Hindutva onslaught.

Meanwhile, Indian troops have launched a massive cordon and search operation in the dense forests of Darhal  in Rajouri district.
