In Ukraine, fierce battle between Russian forces and Ukrainian troops continues in parts of Bakhmut region.

Russia's Defence Ministry said in a briefing that their troops are fighting in western parts of Bakhmut and they have made some advances.

Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar wrote on the Telegram messaging app that decisions are being made according to military expediency.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in a video address that Kyiv is actively preparing new units for the front line.
