Dr. Sania Nishter (Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to the Prime Minister of Pakistan): The incumbent government is making concrete efforts to uplift the marginalized segments of the society. We are trying our level best to empower the neglected segments and give them financial freedom. Financial freedom is an effective way to provide opportunity to the poor segments of the society and include them in the process of development. The social safety net will be further expanded and one window facility will be opened at Tehsil level to integrate all Ehsaas programs under one roof. Ehsaas Saving Wallets will prove to be an important milestone for the economic empowerment of the marginalized segments of the society. The program has been framed in accordance with the best international practices.
Dr. Salman Shah (Advisor to Chief Minister of Punjab on Economic Affairs): Digitalizing the low income communities is key to bringing them in financial net. The poor segments of the population can use this technology and grow their business. The PTI-led government is empowering the marginalized segments of society. The World Bank is running such programs in many countries. We must congratulate and appreciate the Prime Minister’s team that has successfully launched such program in a transparent manner. The health card is another appreciable step of the government and poorest segments of the society can have the best medical facilities all over Pakistan. The PTI-led government has adapted the right approach to uplift the underprivileged population. The incumbent government has ensured financial inclusion of poor & marginalized segments of society. The economic growth is directly linked with inclusiveness .The country is on its way to progress and it is the best time to invest in Pakistan.
Dr. Noor Fatima (Economist): Women have a great role in decision making. Financial freedom gives women opportunity to make free decisions without male dependency. Financial independence is the key to empower women and make them useful members of society. The government has ensured transparency in digital accounts. Under Ehsaas Saving Wallets, beneficiaries will have the option of either drawing their money or saving money into the digital wallets. The women would be able to independently handle their accounts. It is a healthy approach and would bring a positive impact on the overall economy.
