Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said process has been started to bring the body of Arshad Sharif back home from Kenya.
In a statement on Monday, she said the Kenyan authorities have been requested to complete the required procedures at the earliest.
She said Pakistan's Ambassador in Kenya has identified the body of Arshad Sharif at Nairobi's mortuary.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday visited residence of Senior Journalist Arshad Sharif and condoled with his mother on the sad demise of her son.
The Minister also commiserated with Arshad Sharif's widow, his children and other family members. She assured that the government is taking all measures for the repatriation of the body of Arshad Sharif.
She said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to complete all the administrative and procedural matters at the earliest to bring back the body of deceased journalist.
She said we should wait for a detailed report from the Kenyan Government and refrain from doing politics over this matter.
