Pakistan and the United Nations have agreed to enhance cooperation to curb the spread of AIDS.
This was agreed during a meeting between Country Director of the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS for Pakistan, Trouble Chikoko and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman in Islamabad.
They discussed various ongoing programs aimed at preventing the deadly disease of AIDS in Pakistan.
Dr Atta-ur-Rehman emphasized the importance of collaboration with relevant UN agencies and other partners in preventing AIDS, polio, and other diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, UN Country Director for AIDS, Trouble Chikoko said scholars and religious schools can play a positive role in raising awareness about AIDS prevention among the public.
