APHC urges Modi govt to rescind all illegal actions of August 5, 2019
July 26, 2024

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged India to realize the territory's ground situation and create conducive environment for resolving the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions.

In a statement, APHC spokesman also stressed upon India to reverse its illegal actions of August 5, 2019, lift the military siege and release all Kashmiri detainees.

The APHC has also called on the people of occupied territory and Kashmiris worldwide to observe August 5 as 'Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir' in protest against India’s illegal revocation of the territory’s special status.

Meanwhile, Indian troops continued to conduct aggressive cordon and search operations across villages and towns in Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua and Reasi districts. Over the past week, more than 100 youth have been arrested in these districts. These operations are aimed at harassing and suppressing the local population for their support for the ongoing freedom struggle in the territory.

On the other hand, amid an extreme heat wave, Kashmiri political prisoners face dire conditions in jails across India.

These prisoners, including the elderly and chronically ill, are suffering from unbearable heat, inadequate bedding, and poor sanitation.
