PM visits Pind Dadan Khan to perform groundbreaking of Jalalpur Canal

Prime Minister Imran Khan visits Pind Dadan Khan today (Thursday) to perform groundbreaking of Jalalpur Canal.

The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting at Pind Dadan Khan.

The Jalalpur Canal project will be completed in four years at a cost of fifty billion rupees. The 116-kilometer long canal, off-taking from Rasul Barrage, will turn around economy of the rural backward areas of Jhelum and Khushab. The project had been lying pending for a long time, but the present government has revived it. Besides serving the agriculture purpose, the project will also provide water to Kheora Tehsil.

According to DC Jhelum Saif Anwar will prove to be a game changer for the entire area in respect of improving its economy. AC Jhelum Ansar Sagheer said the canal will irrigate 175,000 acres of land.
