Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs, Amir Muqam says government encouraged volunteer and dignified repatriation of the Afghan refugees to their homeland.

He was addressing the closing ceremony of Afghan Cricket League 2024 in Peshawar.

He said Pakistan is the only country in world that is still hosting about three million Afghan refugees and share all basic facilities with them since 1979.

He said peaceful Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. He said Afghan soil should not be used for unlawful activities against Pakistan.

While appreciating the assistance of foreign donor agencies, the Federal Minister expressed the hope that International Community and foreign donors will not leave these millions of Afghan refugees' abandoned in Pakistan and will continue to provide assistance to them.
