China has called for more representation of developing countries in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
This was proposed by Director of Central Committee of Foreign Affairs Commission of Communist Party of China, Wang Yi, during a meeting with co-chairs of Inter-governmental Negotiations on Security Council Reform of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly, including envoys of Kuwait and Austria to the United Nations Tareq Albanai and Alexander Marschik, in Beijing.
Wang Yi said the reform of the United Nations Security Council should uphold fairness, justice and raise the representation of developing countries.
He stressed the need to give opportunity to more small and medium sized countries to participate in the decision-making of the security council, especially to correct the historical injustice against Africa.
