Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) was celebrated on Friday with religious zeal and fervor across the country.
The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in all the provincial capitals to pay homage to the last Prophet (PBUH). There was public holiday on Friday. Special prayers were offered in the mosques after Fajr prayer for peace, prosperity and development of the country.
Special conferences, events and Mehafil-e-Milaad were arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose whole life and teachings are beacon of light for the whole mankind.
In connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi, a National Seerat Conference under the aegis of Ministry of Religious Affairs will be held in Islamabad on Saturday. President Mamnoon Hussain would be the chief guest at the moot which would be attended by a number of delegates from home and abroad.
Prominent Ulema will highlight various aspects of Seerat-un Nabi (PBUH) calling upon people to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) for their salvation.
Mosques, buildings, markets, streets and homes were decorated and illuminated with colourful lights and buntings.
People had also decorated their houses with colorful lights and green flags to show their immeasurable love with the Last Prophet.
Radio Pakistan and other media houses broadcast special programmes underlining different features of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
In Punjab, Milad processions were taken out in Lahore and all other cities and town in the province.
Punjab Emergency Service had made arrangements for providing assistance to the people and over nine thousand rescuers performed their duties in the province.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, (PBUH), was also celebrated with religious zeal and fervor in Karachi and other parts of Sindh province.
In connection with the day, Mahafil-e-Naat and Milad were held all over the city while processions were also taken out to express devotion and respect for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The main procession in this regard was taken out from Memon Mosque this afternoon. The procession, after passing through its traditional routes, culminated at Nishtar Park where main Mehfil-e-Milad was held.
The government had made foolproof security arrangements for the day with deployment of law enforcement agency personnel along the routes of procession and venues of Mahafil-e-Milad.
Eid Miladun Nabi (SAWS) was also celebrated in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan with religious zeal and fervour on Friday.
On the occasion Naat and speech contest were held at Women Degree College in Gilgit on Friday.
Messages of President and Prime Minister
In his message on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed the need for following the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and promote his Uswah Hussana for the well-being of the humanity.
He said that we as the followers of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) should ensure peace and stability in the country obeying his teachings as his life is a complete example for us.
In his message, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi congratulated the entire nation on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) and urged the need for following the path of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to create an environment of love, peace and harmony in the country.
He said the best way to celebrate this blessed day is an affirmation from ourselves to prove before the world with our character, way of talking and acts that we are the Umah of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
The Prime Minister on this occasion also paid tribute to all martyrs, ghazis and mujahideen who offered great sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.
