Dr. A. Z. Hilali (IR Expert): Meeting between Hina Rabbani Khar and Afghan officials was very important in the present context. There were certain misunderstandings between Pakistan and Afghanistan on some issues and this meeting helped alleviate these. Pakistan and Afghanistan need to increase cooperation with each other in many areas. Present Afghan dispensation is not recognized by the world and they need international assistance to help overcome their problems. Pakistan is the only country that can help bridge the differences between Afghanistan and the outside world.

Dr. Amir Raza (IR Expert): Situation in Afghanistan is precarious as its economy has traditionally relied on foreign aid to sustain. No government in Afghanistan can improve economy alone. It is obligation of international community to help the people of Afghanistan as they are suffering due to lack of resources. Winter is usually harsh in many areas of Afghanistan. The US has frozen 9 billion dollar funds of Afghanistan which is not fair.
